Warning: Fraudulent Callers Are Impersonating Dublin Publishing Press
It has come to our attention that several writers based in and around Dublin have received calls or emails from individuals claiming to represent our company, only to be pressured into paying a substantial fee before any work begins. We want to be absolutely clear: these individuals have no connection to Dublin Publishing Press whatsoever.
Dublin Publishing Press is a genuine, currently operating publishing services provider. We have never given permission to any outside party to use our branding, staff names, or company reputation to collect payment from authors, and we want every writer approached this way to recognise it instantly.
In a number of cases, victims received a second call shortly after the first, supposedly from a “senior manager” or “accounts team,” designed purely to make the scheme feel legitimate. It doesn't. It's simply part of the con.
How to Recognise and Avoid Publishing Scams
Authors have told us they were lured in by claims of instant bookstore placement, paid five-star reviews, or a guaranteed spot on a bestseller chart- claims no honest publisher would ever make. Once the money was sent, the “representative” disappeared completely and stopped answering messages.
Verify Before You Pay — Don't wire money or sign anything based solely on a phone call or unsolicited email. Research the company properly: its trading record, its physical office, and genuine feedback from more than one independent author or review source.
Check Our Official Domain — Our only website is https://dublinpublishingpress.com. We are not affiliated with any lookalike domain, and messages from such sites carry no authority to act on our behalf.
Trust Your Instincts — If a payment request feels rushed or unusual, stop and step back. Reach out to us through our verified site to confirm whether the person contacting you is actually one of our team.
Report It Immediately — If you believe you've been approached by a scammer, or you've already paid, contact An Garda Síochána and the CCPC right away, and alert your bank so the transaction can be flagged and reviewed.
